Billed as the largest business event in Central Europe, the annual European Economic Congress in Katowice explores key economic challenges in Poland, Europe and the wider world.

This year’s expected guests include three European Union commissioners, alongside a contingent of Polish government officials, among them Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz, Finance Minister Teresa Czerwińska, Investment and Development Minister Jerzy Kwieciński, and Energy Minister Krzysztof Tchórzewski.

The debates will focus on various issues in business and technology, including the future role of Poland in Europe and the new EU budget beyond 2020, according to public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency.

Polish Radio is a media partner of this year's European Economic Congress, which runs until Wednesday.
