Polish copper giant KGHM fires CEO

Polish state-run copper producer KGHM has dismissed its CEO Radosław Domagalski-Łabędzki, according to media reports.

Deputy CEO Michał Jezioro has also lost his job following a decision by the company’s supervisory board on Saturday, the businessinsider.com.pl news service has reported.
The website cited a statement by KGHM that it said announced the boardroom changes.
The statement did not give reasons for dismissing Domagalski-Łabędzki, who became CEO in October 2016, the website said.
It added that this marked the third change of chief executive officer at KGHM since the conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party swept to power in Poland in the autumn of 2015.
The KGHM supervisory board has named Rafał Pawelczak as interim CEO, while mandating Stefan Świątkowski to step in for Jezioro as deputy CEO in charge of international assets, businessinsider.com.pl reported.
