Polish airline LOT eyes 10 million passengers in 2018

Polish state-owned airline LOT says it aims to transport up to 10 million passengers next year, up from 6.8 million in 2017.

The carrier also plans to offer a number of new destinations and increase the frequency of flights, according to spokesman Adrian Kubicki.
LOT to fly from Warsaw to Singapore
In mid-May, LOT will launch direct flights from Warsaw to Singapore, a key transit point for global travelers, including those headed for destinations such as Australia and New Zealand, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Among other new routes, the airline is preparing to begin operating flights to Oslo in Norway and the Croatian city of Dubrovnik.
New US flights from Budapest
In another expansion drive, the Polish air carrier is scheduled to launch direct flights from the Hungarian capital Budapest to New York and Chicago in May, IAR reported.
Meanwhile, Warsaw’s international Chopin Airport has handled more than 15.5 million passengers this year, an all-time record and a marked improvement on 2016, when 12.8 million people used the airport.
