Polish gov’t adopts bill to ease rules for electric cars

The Polish government has adopted a bill to ease rules for electric cars and facilitate work to build infrastructure for “green” vehicles.

Under the bill, drivers of electric cars would be able to use bus lanes, and they would be exempt from parking fees and excise duty until 2025, Energy Minister Krzysztof Tchórzewski told journalists on Thursday.
Meanwhile, drivers of regular vehicles would face new expenditures, as the bill allows for the setting up of low-emission zones that would cost up to PLN 30 (EUR 7) to access per day.
The regulations also provide for the construction of over 6,000 charging stations and an additional 400 fast chargers.
Electric cars are to account for half the fleet used by the state administration by 2025.
