"This is testament to confidence in our economy and evidence of the great hope the largest financial institutions place in the economic development of our country," Morawiecki told a press conference in Warsaw.

Last week, Morawiecki told public broadcaster Polish Radio that thanks to the move by JP Morgan Chase, the biggest US bank by assets, “within a few years there will be several thousand new people working here, with skills such as data management, risk management and credit risk management."

JP Morgan Chase operates in more than 50 countries.

Morawiecki, who is also deputy prime minister, announced earlier this month that the bank wanted to open an office in Poland. He was speaking while on a trip to the United States, where he met JP Morgan bosses in New York.
