Strong private consumption and GDP growth of four percent in the first half of the year, which Puls Biznesu said could potentially continue, drove the rise in imports.
In the first six months of 2017 Polish imports totalled PLN 489.4 billion (EUR 114 billion), while experts were worth only PLN 2.8 billion more than that, Puls Biznesu said.
But with exports valued at PLN 13.6 billion more that imports in the same period in 2016, Puls Biznesu said a trend was emerging. (vb)
