Dietl, a PhD economist from the Warsaw School of Economics, said on Monday before his election that he wants to grow the scale of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

“One of the ways to build scale is strategic alliance. I believe that in certain market niches in Central and Eastern Europe there is an opportunity to build strategic alliances,” Dietl said.

Dietl is currently a financial advisor to the Polish president, a member of the Sobieski Institute think-tank and an expert at the Business Centre Club.

He has previously been a member of the Warsaw Stock Exchange's supervisory board and headed its Strategy Committee. (vb/pk)
