Poland's 48th safest travel destination: World Economic Forum

Poland is the 48th safest country, according to a new ranking of 136 national economies by their competitiveness in the tourism sector, down from the 35th spot in 2015.

Finland is at the top of the World Economic Forum's list for the second time in a row, and it is followed by the United Arab Emirates and Iceland.

At the other end of the index were El Salvador, Yemen and Columbia.

The security ranking took into account police activity, crime rates and terror threats.

Poland was 46th in the travel and tourism competitiveness index, which considered hygiene, health, prices, international openness, infrastructure, and natural and cultural resources and as well as security, up one spot from the last ranking in 2015. (vb/di)
