During a tour of the Ursus tractor factory in Lublin, eastern Poland, Gowin said: “The government recently announced its electromobility programme. We are convinced that in the next two or three years the streets of Polish cities could feature hundreds of electric buses, and later thousands.”
He said that Ursus has “bold plans to build electric cars, delivery trucks and passenger cars”.
“This is an example of the success and dynamism of the Polish economy,” Gowin said.
In February the Polish government set itself an ambitious goal to rapidly develop electric powered road transport, especially in urban centres.
Letters of intent were signed by representatives of 41 local governments, the ministries of development and energy, as well as the Polish Development Fund with the aim of boosting the concept of e-mobility in Poland.
