WSE main index down as Trump wins US presidency

The main index of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) opened down on Wednesday on news of Republican candidate Donald Trump’s triumph in the US presidential elections.

The WIG20 was down 1.21 percent at 1761.64 points while the WIG was down 1.91 percent at 47208.30.
The US dollar weakened against the Polish złoty, trading at 3.9 PLN at 9:15 am on Wednesday morning.
On the currency market the dollar is weakening significantly, and so are the currencies of emerging markets, including the PLN, Raiffeisen Polbank analysts said. (vb/pk)
