M&S retreats from Poland: report

British multinational retailer Marks and Spencer is closing all of its 11 stores in Poland, Polish website onet.pl has reported.

The company has decided to close a total of 53 stores in 10 countries, onet.pl said.
The decision was made after an analysis of 466 foreign stores, Marks and Spencer said in a press release cited by onet.pl.
Last year Marks and Spencer recorded a GBP 45 million loss in the 10 markets on a GBP 171 million revenue, onet.pl said.
Stores will also be closed in China, France, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Slovenia, Romania, Holland and Belgium. (vb/pk)
