Banking-sector net profit increases slightly

The net profit of the Polish banking sector increased slightly year-on-year in the first nine months of the year to PLN 11.42 billion.

The figure was an increase of 0.27 percent over the same period in 2015, the Polish central bank has said.
According to calculations by the PAP news agency, in September alone, the sector’s net profit amounted to PLN 1.1 billion, which was 7.9 percent higher than a year earlier.
In the third quarter of 2016, the net result of banks amounted to PLN 3.14 billion, falling 9.2 percent y/y. (rg)
