New Volkswagen factory opened in Poland

German automaker Volkswagen on Monday officially opened a new factory near Września, central-western Poland.

From 2018, the plant will produce 100,000 new Volkswagen Crafter delivery vans a year.
The factory will employ some 3,000 people and will cost around EUR 800 million in total.
In a letter read out during the opening ceremony, Polish President Andrzej Duda voiced hope that "both the investment and the experience of factory workers will be an inspiration and help in efforts to direct [the Polish] economy onto a new track of dynamic growth."
