According to PAP, the decision that Daimler will build its factory in southwestern Poland, will be announced on Thursday, although the development ministry did not confirm the report.
Earlier this year, the German automaker said that it plans to build an engine plant in Poland and estimated that production would start in 2019.
The project is worth around EUR 500 million and could provide around 700 jobs, according to media reports.
Poland’s development ministry said the new factory will produce the latest petrol and diesel engines which meet the highest industry environmental standards.
Deputy Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said: “The decision to locate a new-generation car engine factory in our country confirms Poland’s openness to foreign investment.”
“It also testifies to the condition of the Polish economy,” he added. (tf/rg)
