Industrial producer prices rise in Poland, bucking EU trend

Poland was one of just a handful of European Union countries to see a rise in industrial producer prices in August.

The figure rose 0.1 percent in Poland over the previous month, according to Eurostat, the EU’s statistics office.

Decreases were seen in Luxembourg (-7.1 percent), the Netherlands (-6.6 percent), Croatia (-5.0 percent) and Slovakia (-4.9 percent), Eurostat said in a statement released on Tuesday, adding that the EU average was -0.2 percent.

Industrial producer prices increased only in the United Kingdom (+1.4 percent), Malta (+1.0 percent), Sweden (+0.7 percent) and Poland (+0.1 percent). (rg/pk)
