Deflation in Poland

Prices of goods and services in Poland fell 0.8 percent in August compared to the same month last year, the Central Statistical Office said in a flash estimate released on Wednesday.

Prices fell 0.2 percent compared to July.
Economists surveyed by the PAP news agency had predicted that prices would fall 0.9 percent year on year in August and 0.3 percent month on month.
The Central Statistical Office is to publish full data on August deflation on 12 September.
