Carmaker Mercedes to invest in Poland?

Daimler AG is mulling the construction of a Mercedes Benz Manufacturing (MBM) engine plant in southern Poland, which could cost some EUR 800 million, according to a newspaper report.

The report was not confirmed by Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło, who said: “The government is trying to attract foreign investors”.
The Rzeczpospolita daily said on Monday that a new plant in Jawor in Lower Silesia could cost around EUR 800 million and employ 1,500 people.
Mercedes is owned by German carmaker Daimler AG. (rg/pk)
