Opel factory in Poland steps up production

The Opel factory in Gliwice, in southern Poland, expects to produce 150,000 Astra models this year, increasing staff and production.

“The increase in production is related to the speeding up of assembly lines and employment of new workers. All operations are being done faster, by a larger number of employees, meaning that instead of cars leaving the production line every ninety seconds, it now takes 80," the director of the Gliwice plant, Andrzej Korpak, told the PAP news agency.
The new Astra model has been produced in Gliwice since September last year. (rg/pk)
