Streaming giant Netflix has revealed that it is open to working on co-productions with Polish companies, following the launch of their Polish portal this year.

Joris Evers, head of communications for Europe, Middle East and Africa, told news hub wp.pl that we are open to this kind of cooperation and it is very likely that joint projects will be created in the future.

At present, only a little over 10 percent of productions available on the Polish incarnation of Netflix have Polish subtitles or dubbing.

Evers said that a condition for taking on a Polish series or film would be its potential broader appeal to other international markets.

In recent years, several award-winning Polish film directors have branched out into television series, including Agnieszka Holland, Borys Lankosz, Xawery Żuławski and Marcin Lechki.

Netflix currently serves over 190 countries, 130 of which joined the fold this January. (nh/pk)
