Two previous cost-cutting programmes by the state-run producer, carried out from 2010 to 2015, produced a total of PLN 2.3 billion in savings, Tauron said on Wednesday.
Company CEO Remigiusz Nowakowski said in a statement: "The impact on the group of a difficult market situation will be partially offset by the results of the [efficiency] program.”
He added: “We will generate most of the savings in distribution and production, but the program will also involve other segments, including the holding company.” (pk)
