The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) slapped a fine of over PLN 1 million on Swatch Group Polska, and a fine of over PLN 800,000 on the Vistula Group.

The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection said Swatch Group Polska had monitored prices set by distributors, punishing those who sold watches at lower-than-agreed prices by stopping deliveries.

The firms concerned are entitled to appeal the decision. Swatch Group Polska denied fixing prices.

“Even though Swatch Group Polska does not feel responsible for any practices limiting competition, it worked closely with the Office [during its investigation]," the company said in a statement. (pk/rg)
