According to accounting firm Tax Care, the total of such businesses in the country is just 5,700 short of reaching 3 million, writes daily Puls Biznesu.

Over 24,000 one-man enterprises were registered in October. While the figure is lower by 700 month-on-month, and by 900 year-on-year, the number of insolvencies has dropped in recent months.

Last month, over 18,500 were stricken off the National Official Business Register, which is 800 fewer than in September.

Marek Siudaj, from Tax Care, believes the stable increase in the number of sole traders is due to the growing optimism and improving economic situation among the smallest businesses. “Hence, the significant decline in filed bankruptcies,” Siudaj explains.

Experts expect that one-man businesses will pass the 3-million mark by December at the latest. (aba/di)
