Polish universities are seeing a record-high interest in renewable energy degree courses among youth.

According to Sun Age, a manufacturer offering green energy solutions, as many as 30 institutions of higher learning across Poland are offering such a line of study to their students, writes paper Gazeta Wyborcza.

The demand has prompted vocational schools to embrace sustainable energy in their curriculums, the daily adds.

Over 36,000 people are employed in Poland’s renewables sector. Meanwhile, as the Institute for Renewable Energy estimates, the branch could take in over 100,000 employees by 2030, should Poland follow EU’s climate policy, which envisages a 40-percent cut of greenhouse gas emissions compared to 1990 levels by EU member states by 2030.
