The salaries of all Polish employees will be raised by several hundred złoty a month, explained Kerry Person, Director of CEE Operations at Amazon.

The raises for the 6,000 Polish employees of Amazon is part of an annual overhaul of global remuneration strategies.

“We analysed data on wages and benefits offered by 150 local companies. We compared the salaries offered by us with the salary for similar positions in our region, such as a forklift operator, an production department employee, a warehouse worker, machine operator, a warehouse assistant, foreman or team manager. All of these actions have had an impact on the decisions we took,” Person told the PAP news agency.

Amazon operates three warehouses in Poland, which serves the rest of the region. The company, which reported a revenue of USD 89 billion in 2014 does not have a Polish-language website, although Amazon has said that this could be a possibility in the future. (rg)
