Polish millionaires increasing

Around 16,000 Poles declared an income of more than PLN 1 million in 2014, increasing by 1,400 over the previous year.

This preliminary data was released by tax offices in 2014. The data indicates that the trend observed in recent years – that the number of millionaires is increasing – persists.
Most Polish millionaires live in or around large cities, with a fourth of the highest earners living in the Mazowsze voivodeship.
The region which houses the Polish capital, Warsaw, boasts 4,278 millionaires, followed by Wielkopolska in the west of the country, with 1,692.
However, regions which are not synonymous with wealth are also quickly gaining a rich population. The highest increase of millionaires was seen in Swiętokrzyskie province; their number increased by a third. (rg)
