The obstacle in the development of the Polish economy is the low level of digitisation, placing among the worst in Europe, experts say.

Poland lags behind the majority of the members in the EU in terms of the digital penetration.
“Although it’s hard to believe, there are still many companies in Poland that do not use any technology, not even e-mail,” says Małgorzata Starczewska-Krzysztoszek from the Polish Confederation Lewiatan.
“It turns out that in the analogue group, the absolute majority are companies set on staying in business, to provide work and income for the owner and his family.”
Lewiatan data suggests that 20 percent of companies registered in Poland do not use e-mail.
“Luckily, this situation is steadily improving and the group of analogue companies – which do not use any IT systems in their business – is over 20 percent,” Starczewska-Krzysztoszek said.
The expert added that close to 40 percent of companies in Poland are in the process of adopting IT systems, while more than 30 percent are already operating in a digital environment. (rg)
