Poland 47th worldwide in tourism ranking

The largest country in Central and Eastern Europe fares much worse than other members in the EU, according to a new report.
Spain, France and Germany were the three most attractive tourist destinations worldwide, the report by the World Economic Forum said.
The Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index says that tourism contributes to a total of 9.5 percent to global GDP.
Poland lost points due to its ranking of “Cultural resources and business travel” where it optained a ranking of only 2.7 out of a maximum seven.
In 2014, Poland was visited by nearly 16 million tourists who spent nearly USD 11 million (at an average of USD 692 each).
Among the advantages, for which Poland received the most points in the list were, health and hygiene, as well as safety and security. (rg)
