Deadline looms for Polish tax returns

With the deadline fast approaching for filing personal income tax returns for 2014, on Wednesday morning it was reported that over 6.5 million taxpayers have so far filed their tax online.

However, even though a record number of taxpayers have filed their personal income tax (PIT) returns online, the majority of returns are traditionally filed in tax offices throughout Poland.
The 6.5-million figure is close to that given by consultants KPMG, which reported in a survey earlier in April that 7.6 million Polish taxpayers will file their PIT tax return online this year, amounting to 40 percent of all PIT submissions.
Polish taxpayers have until the end of 30 April to file their PIT returns. (jb)
