The Irish airline’s market dominance is slowly being reduced by competitors Wizzair and Lufthansa.

These carriers are all currently embroiled in a battle for passengers.
In 2014, Polish airports served more than 27 million people, about 8.3 percent more than the previous year.
Data from the Civil Aviation Authority shows that Hungarian airline Wizzair and German Lufthansa were the biggest gainers last year, gaining 500,000 passengers and 300,000 passengers respectively.
Last year Wizzair sold 4.5 million tickets, while Lufthansa sold 1.8 million.
These are still low compared to the national leader – Ryanair. Known for its low-cost tickets, but expensive add-ons, the Irish airline carried 6.53 million passengers last year.
Ryanair’s share actually dropped a little from the previous year.
Another airline which saw a drop was Polish national airline Lot, whose share dropped in 2014 to 5.78 million from 2013’s 5.86 million. (rg)
