Four offers for Łazienkowski Bridge rebuild

Four consortiums have submitted tenders for the repair to Warsaw’s Łazienkowski Bridge, which burned last month.

The most expensive offer was for over PLN 132 million by the Metrostav consortium, while the cheapest was for PLN 104 million by Bilfinger Infrastructure.

A spokesperson for the Municipal Roads Directorates (ZDM), Adam Sobieraj, said that the offers were opened on Tuesday at 11 AM.

The most expensive bid was submitted by a consortium of Metrostav AS, which tendered a repair project costing over PLN 132.5 million gross.

The city of Warsaw has budgeted more than PLN 106.5 million gross for the repair of the bridge.

ZDM furthermore informed that all companies have declared a 10-year warranty on parts, steel and eight years of guarantee in the construction of reinforced concrete.

“Information about the choice [of contractor] will be given as quickly as possible,” ZDM said.

The wooden structure of the Łazienkowski Bridge burned on Valentine’s day 2015, damaging the asphalt surface of the bridge. (rg)
