Poland’s GDP at 3.3% in 2014

Initial figures released by Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS), Tuesday morning, show that Poland’s GDP grew by 3.3 percent in 2014.

Poland’s economy accelerated on 2013’s figure of 1.7 percent GDP growth.
Unemployment down year-on-year
Meanwhile, GUS also announced initial unemployment figures for December last year at 11.5 percent. The number is in line with the Labour Ministry’s earlier estimates.
The unemployment number is up 0.1 percentage point on November, although down from 13.4 percent on December 2013, GUS noted.
The number of officially unemployed people in Poland in December stood at around 1.82 million. (jb)
