The company, a unit of German BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgerate, is celebrating 20 years of activity in Poland.

It currently employs some 3,600 people, mainly in Lodz, but also in Warsaw and Rzeszow.

Recently announced plans are for the employment of a further 500 people in three factories in Lodz. BSH expects its production capacity to rise by up to 80 percent in the coming years.

The company has four factories in Poland, producing goods such as washing machines, clothes dryers and dishwashers.

It also has and R&D centre here as well as back office units that provide services for both the Polish branch and other parts of the international group.

Over the 20 years of activity in Poland, the company has invested more than 500 million euro,” said BSH chief executive Konrad Pokutycki.

The highest amounts were spent on the factories in Lodz, the research and development area and the so-called shared services.”

In the coming years, BSH will seek production plant workers, management-level employees and engineers, Pokutycki said.

So far, investments stood at some 100 million zloty (some 24 million euro) annually, the CEO said.

Until now we have not been increasing production capacity at as high a pace as we plan to do now, so future investments will surely exceed 100 million zloty per year,” he added. (kw)
