Of the 41 nationalities listed by Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS), 26 saw an increase in numbers in this sector compared with 2012.

The most dynamic growth was represented by the Chinese (up 851 percent), South Koreans (237 percent), Swiss (120 percent), Romanians (81 percent) and Australians (51 percent).

As with 2012, the most numerous visitors were Germans, and while their numbers dropped slightly by 50 people to 9447 in 2012, four of the top five countries saw an increase in 2012 (Ukraine, Russia, UK, France).

A fall in numbers of visitors making use of this kind of accommodation was noted in tourists from 15 nations, including countries hit by the credit crisis such as Spain and Italy. (nh)
