Dreamliners still dogged by technical problems

A Japanese Dreamliner didn't take off after the right side engine failed to start, Wednesday, after the troubled 787s were given the all clear to resume service after battery problems.

The ANA flight from Ube, western Japan, to Tokyo’s Haneda airport failed to take off due to engine failure, informed Megumi Tezuka, a spokeswoman at the airline.
The engine failure came after Japan Airline also canceled a flight by its Boeing 787 Dreamliner yesterday after an indicator on a flight bound for Singapore signalled problems with the engine anti-icing system, Bloomberg reports.
Poland only has just resumed service of its Dreamliner fleet on 1 June after the US Federal Aviation Administration ordered all 787s to be grounded in January after problems were experienced with the lithium batteries it uses.

LOT Polish Airlines, alongside Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways and Ethiopian Airlines are demanding financial compensation from Boeing for the loss of revenue they suffered during the six month grounding process while the problems with the batteries were solved. (pg)
