Speaking with Polish Radio, Chairman of the Polish Automotive Industry Jakub Farys noted that Poland already has 2.5 million cars that run on gas, and that this number is growing.
“This situation is above all due to a desire to save,” he said.
Converting a new car's system so that it can use gas can cost as much as 8000 zloty (1930 euro).
However, Farys says that for frequent drivers, the investment pays off.
“The price of gas is about half that of petrol or diesel,” he noted.
Meanwhile, besides LPG, the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is also on the rise in Poland.
“You can save up to 40 percent of your costs on this fuel,” noted Robert Zajkowski from Poland's AGV Association. (nh)
