“Company management has reached an agreement with the trade unions for 230 ground staff redundancies. In addition, 130 employees will take advantage of the voluntary redundancy scheme,” Deputy Treasury Minister Rafał Baniak has said.

“In total, this gives us 360 people who will leave the company in March,” he said, adding that this is the first part in a restructuring programme at the loss-making airline which will see further redundancies to follow this year.

In February, LOT's new CEO, Sebastian Mikosz, told Polish Radio he expects around 700 people will lose their jobs with the state-owned airline. (pg)
