Poland's first supercar is to be named Hussarya, after the fabled winged cavalry that once struck fear into the hearts of foes across Europe.

Renderings of the sleek automobile have been released by Polish sports car company Arrinera.
“Beauty, strength and manoeuvrability: these were the main traits of the world's most powerful and effective XVII cavalry – the Polish Hussars,” Arrinera has stated.
“Arrinera draws from these traditions and incorporates them into the Hussarya supercar,” the company claims.
The car's contours were honed during a 14-month period of research at the Warsaw University of Technology.
Noted British engineer Lee Noble has also been involved in the project.
A preliminary batch of 33 cars is in the pipeline, with work set to be finished by late 2013. Following this, mass production will begin.
The luxury car market has expanded significantly in Poland over the last few years, with Porsche, Ferrari and Japanese brand Infiniti among the best-sellers.
Arrinera is hoping to win over Polish clients to a home-grown alternative, besides sparking interest among foreign buyers.
The winged hussars (husaria in Polish) are most famed for their part in the 1683 Relief of Vienna, when forces under King Jan Sobieski helped save the Habsburg capital from the Ottoman army of Grand Vizier Kara Mustafa Pasha. (nh)
