The study by pollster CBOS found that 89 percent of Poles believe their country as a whole is a safe place to live.

Eight percent of respondents said that Poland was not a safe country to live in, while three percent were undecided.

The percentage of those saying their neighbourhood or residential area were safe has increased by 5 percentage points from the previous such study, the pollster said.

The latest survey was conducted from April 4 to 11 on a representative, random sample of 1,064 adults.
