The Sanctity of Life march in the Polish capital followed religious services in churches and was combined with a drive to collect baby care products for underprivileged women.

Participants helped collect diapers and other items for two women's shelters near Warsaw, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.

The march, held for the 14th straight year, also aimed to highlight the role of marriage and the family.

This year’s event additionally focused on the role of the father in a family.

The first Sanctity of Life march was held on March 25, 2006, marking Sanctity of Human Life Day, as observed by the Roman Catholic Church in Poland.
