She left behind a roster of about 150 memorable roles and cameo appearances, including in movies that achieved cult status when her country was under communism from the end of World War II to 1989.

These included her performance as Balcerkowa in Stanisław Bareja’s Alternatywy 4 (4 Alternative Street) comedy television series.

She also appeared in Zbigniew Chmielewski’s Daleko od szosy series and in Czterdziestolatek (Being Forty), a television comedy series originally broadcast between 1974 and 1977.

Czerwińska played in comedies such as Tadeusz Chmielewski’s Nie lubię poniedziałku (I Hate Mondays), Marek Piwowski’s iconic Rejs (The Cruise) and Stanisław Bareja’s 1972 comedy Poszukiwany, poszukiwana (Man – Woman Wanted) as well as his 1980 cult movie Miś (Teddy Bear).

She also appeared in Roman Polanski’s The Pianist.
