Restored version of 'Schindler’s List' to hit Polish screens

A restored version of Steven Spielberg’s Oscar-studded "Schindler’s List" is due to go on general release in Poland on January 27, the 74th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi German concentration camp of Auschwitz.

Set in German-occupied Poland during World War II, the film traces the story of Oskar Schindler, a German businessman and member of the Nazi Party, who saved the lives of more than 1,100 Jews by employing them in his factories.
Schindler’s List was shot in Poland, with many Polish actors in secondary roles. It won seven Academy Awards, including those for Poland’s Janusz Kamiński (director of photography), and Allan Starski and Ewa Braun (art directors).
The film has been remastered in 4K, Dolby Cinema, and Dolby Atmos under Spielberg’s supervision to mark the 25th anniversary of its premiere.
It stars Liam Neeson in the title role, Ralph Fiennes as SS officer Amon Göth, and Ben Kingsley as Schindler’s Jewish accountant Itzhak Stern.
