The violin, which was made in 1685, was bought to celebrate the centenary of Poland’s regained independence.
Virtuoso Janusz Wawrowski is the only musician allowed to play the instrument, which is the only Stradivarius violin in the country, according to Polish Radio’s IAR news agency
The violin, which is named “Polonia”, was bought from a private collection, and is one of the best-kept Stradivarius instruments in the world, IAR added.
The violin will remain on display until December 21.
