"The exhibition takes you on a complete historic journey through their work in myriad domains—art, typography and industrial design," the museum has said on its website.

The eminent avant-garde couple, whose careers spanned the 1920s and 1930s up to the post-World War II period, were initially inspired by Russian constructivism.

Kobro and Strzemiński’s avant-garde interests were later formed by neo-plasticism and the German Bauhaus movement.

Both artists initiated the first presentation of Polish constructivism in Vilnius in 1923 and were co-founders of principal groups of the Polish avant-garde.

Playing an active part in the life of international art communities, they maintained contact with artists such as Piet Mondrian, Theo van Doesburg, Hans Arp and Kazimir Malevich.

The exhibition at Paris' Pompidou Centre starts on Tuesday and runs until January 14.
