The operation took place at the Institute of Cardiology in Warsaw on August 30 and lasted seven hours, state news agency PAP reported on Wednesday.
The patient, Marek Wlaź, told the agency that 12 days after surgery he felt well and hoped to be able to live normally.
Wlaź, aged 51, had a genetic condition affecting the liver and causing damage to the muscular tissue of the heart, according to PAP.
