"This is a tangible support from the Polish government. We have allocated about PLN 7 million (EUR 1.6m, USD 1.9m) for this project this year," Szydło, a former prime minister, told reporters.
"The programme will certainly attract great interest in rural communities, in small towns, everywhere such projects are running," she added.
The project, called EtnoPolska, will continue beyond this year, state news agency PAP reported.
