Europe's fastest roller coaster opens in Poland

The tallest and fastest roller coaster in Europe has opened in southern Poland, offering rides at breathtaking speeds of up to 142 kph.

The Hyperion “hyper coaster” in the Energylandia theme park, some 50 km to the west of the city of Kraków, is 77 metres tall.
The Hyperion was made by Swiss company Intamin, with parts produced in several European factories, including in Switzerland, Germany, Croatia and Slovakia. Construction began last October.
Last year the Energylandia park drew over 1.2 million visitors, the PAP state news agency reported.
