Joanna Kulig was named by Playlist magazine alongside such stars as Nicole Kidman, Amy Adams, Lady Gaga, Charlize Theron, Keira Knightley, Rosamund Pike and Natalie Portman.

“Cold War” won Pawlikowski the Best Director prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Kulig also appeared in Pawlikowski’s previous feature, the Oscar-winning Ida.

Thirty-six-year-old Kulig is one of Poland's most talented actresses.

Over the past decade, she has received numerous awards in Poland for both her film and theatre roles. She has starred in German, US and South Korean film productions. Kulig, who attended a music school before a drama academy, is also a talented singer. (mk/vb)
