The initiative starts on Saturday and runs until May 19.
Łukasz Orłowski, a spokesman for Poland’s Theatre Institute, said the initiative refers to a study by the Warsaw School of Economics which examined the impact of subsidies and money from state coffers on the region in which a theatre is located.
“It turned out that PLN 1 ... of public funds awarded to theatres generates over PLN 3 in profit for the region,” he added.
Tickets will be on sale only at theatres taking part in the initiative. One person will be able to buy a maximum of two tickets for performances for adults, and five tickets for performances designed for children.
