According to Monika Jaskólska, who was behind the idea of gifting Hanks the 126p, the keys will be handed over to their new owner on November 28 or 29 after the car flies to Los Angeles on board a Polish Airlines Dreamliner.
The idea to gift Hanks the car was born after photos of the actor posing with a Fiat were found online.
The Fiat destined for Hanks, which originated in a factory in Bielsko-Biała, southern Poland, was found in a vintage car collection in Suwałki, northeastern Poland.
It was renovated largely thanks to a donation from six-time World Cup winning racer Rafał Sonik. Most of its parts, including the engine, are new. (vb/pk)
