Public broadcaster Polish Radio has teamed up with one of China's largest media groups in an initiative aiming to promote the country’s music and culture in China.

A deal was signed by Polish Radio Vice President Mariusz Staniszewski and Sun Xiangtong, the President of SMG Radio, part of the Shanghai Media Group.

It is the latest in a series of deals between Polish and Chinese media.

Staniszewski believes that, amid efforts to strengthen business ties between Poland and China, collaboration on cultural projects is a platform for building good relations, the IAR news agency reported.

In January, music released by Polish Radio could be heard in the south-western Chinese province of Sichuan, following a team-up between Polish Radio and SRT, the Radio and Television Group of Sichuan province.

Polish President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Beata Szydło have both visited China to drum up business and boost ties.
